I, Gerald Peter, have been running the Hotel Sonne in the fourth generation since 2004 - not just as a hotelier, but as a passionate host. It is an honor for me to fill this traditional hotel with life and develop it further.

My vision: A hotel that combines business professionalism with a genuine feel-good atmosphere. A place where you feel welcome and experience that special feeling of sunshine. Together with my team, I work hard every day to ensure that your stay is exactly as you want it to be.

A success story in four generations

The Sonne has stood for hospitality in Dornbirn since 1806. What began with Jakob Fussenegger as an inn is now a modern business and city hotel - family-owned since 1900 and now run by the fourth generation. From its historic beginnings to the textile merchant era and today's campus location: the Sonne has always been a meeting place for people who appreciate quality.

The whole story

Sägerstraße - more than just an address

The name gives it away: Four sawmills once stood here on the Müller Canal. The nearby sawmill bridge has been recognizable since 1530 and is the oldest Achbrücke bridge in Dornbirn. Not far from us, what was probably the first mechanical spinning mill in Central Europe was built in 1813.
This strategically ideal location between the historic center and southern settlements - an advantage then as now. Located directly on the Dornbirn campus, we are the perfect starting point for business and leisure.
